Introduction to Bhikkhu Bodhi’s Book “In Buddha’s Words”

Our speaker, Mr. James Chao comes from a Buddhist family and has studied Buddhism since his youth. James had the good fortune to meet the Venerable Bhikkhu Bodhi (VBB) in the Chuang Yen Monastery in NY two years ago and invited him to visit Houston to give a talk on Buddhism and the Nikayas. The VBB will be spending half a day at The Jade Buddha Temple on Sunday, Nov 13 on the book, “In The Buddha’s Words – An Anthology of Discourses from Pali Canon.”

James talk will introduce the book to the  English Dharma Group as it will be beneficial to potential attendees of VBB’s workshop to get acquainted with the it beforehand.

A subsequent review by those who have read the book is scheduled on Oct. 16 prior to the VBB’s visit.
